When my wife was pregnant, it was getting pretty difficult for her to travel. So instead of hopping on a plane or sitting in a car for 8 hours, we decided to have a staycation baby moon right down the road at Disney World.
Here’s how it went and here’s how you can have one just as fun and food-filled!

Expectant Parents Guide to Disney World
Here’s everything you need to know when taking a baby moon to Disney World:
Before your Babymoon
Here are some things I recommend you do before you go on a vacation when expecting:
1. Talk to your doctor first so see if it’s safe to travel.
Plus, ask your doctor if there are any rides that you should or shouldn’t ride (if they have any Disney or theme park experience).
2. Choose where you want to stay
When it comes to choosing a hotel at Disney World, I’m really not that picky. That said, if this is your baby moon, there are some things I would consider.
- Proximity to the Parks
- Be sure to choose a hotel with the most convenient transportation options such as Yacht and Beach Club, Boardwalk, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Art of Animation
- My favorite non-Disney hotel is the Waldorf Astoria and Four Seasons
- Pool
- We are big hotel pool people so that’s always a big part of our hotel choice
- Some of my favorite Disney resort pools are Yacht and Beach Club, Coronado Springs, Polynesian, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach
- Spa
- Sure you can go to any spa on Disney property, but there’s just something about going to a spa that’s located in your hotel
- Also check to make sure they offer prenatal massages
Packing for your Babymoon
Here are some of my most recommended packing essentials and tips:
1. Make a Packing List
I’m not going to go into detail about what you should pack, but these are some things you should consider when packing, coming from my wife:
- Try on clothes before packing to make sure you’ll be comfortable
- Make sure you’ll be cool or warm (depending on the time of year)
- Consider packing baggier, loose fitting clothes during the summer
- Pack super comfortable walking shoes
- Pack loose socks if your feet swell easily
2. Park Bag
Here’s everything my pregnant wife kept in her park bag:
- TUMS
- Portable battery fan
- Sunscreen
- Gum
- Hand Sanitizer
- Sunglasses
- Crunchy Granola Bar
- Portable Battery Charger
Disney World Rides When Pregnant
If you ever go on Reddit or Disney forums, you’ll probably notice that these lists are different because some expectant mothers have different opinions of what’s safe and what isn’t. But to keep things safe, I’m only going to include attractions that do not have any expectant mother warnings.
And please consult with your doctor before you go on any of these rides.

- Get some photos of your baby’s first unofficial magical vacatoin
