Best Bang for Your Buck
When it comes to choosing the best hotel to get the most bang for your buck, it comes down to 2 things for me – budget and how much time I plan on being at the resort.
- Budget: If the goal is to save money, then stay at a Value resort. The amenities aren’t amazing but the pools are large, rooms are good, and the food court is a plus.
- Time at the Hotel: If you plan on having a resort day, then I recommend the you choose a hotel that has the best amenities for you such as a pool, spa, dining options, etc, most of which are found at Deluxe resorts.
I’m one of those people that like the best of most worlds so the Coronado Springs (Moderate) is a great middle of the road choice that’s easier on the wallet, but still has some great amenities found at Deluxe resorts.
And if I’m feeling boujee, I’ll pick the cheapest room during the cheapest time of year, but at one of the nicer hotels like Beach Club. But if I want to spend my entire day at the park, find me at Pop Century.
Does Booking Through Expedia or Similar Save You Money?
One thing that Disney seems to have down to a T is the fact that regardless of where you book your Disney hotel room, the prices will be pretty consistent across the board.
That means that the prices on Disney’s official website will be pretty similar to those found on Expedia (or similar) or even through a Disney travel agent.
And honestly, by booking through Disney’s website, you’ll have access to any seasonal promotions and deals as well as Disney Visa offers.
Seasonal Pricing
Disney World hotel room rates use a seasonal pricing model that fluctuates depending on the time of year, holidays, and upcoming events.
This is known as Peak, Regular, and Value seasons:
- Peak Seasons: Parks are crazy crowded and room rates are expensive and in high demand. This is usually around major holidays, special events, when school is out, and even some weekends.
- Regular Seasons: Parks are not as crowed as Peak and room rates are normal such as weekdays during the school year.
- Value Seasons: Parks are pretty empty and room rates are at their lowest. This is usually non-summer weekdays or right after major holidays.
