The poolside cabanas at Aulani might not look like much since they’re just tents, but if you’re someone that prioritizes comfort over cost, it’s definitely something worth booking, especially if you have little ones.
Here’s a quick walkthrough of a cabana in the Ka Maka Grotto Pool area:
What’s Included
Each shaded retreat includes:
- Seating for 7 guests which includes a couch and two lounge chairs
- 43-inch TV
- mini fridge with six mini water bottles
- remote-controlled ceiling fan
- coffee table
- lockable safe
- fruit platter
- service button (with in-cabana dining at an extra cost)
- dessert platter
- snack basket
- sunscreen
- Beats Pill for music
- phone charging station and outlets
Cabana Locations
There are three locations where you can stay:
- Ka Maka Grotto Pool (most popular)
- Menehune Bridge (near the kids play area)
- Wailana Pool (near Ulu Cafe, tucked away)
Ka Maka is by far the best, while the Menhune Bridge is the best for those who want to be around the fun kid areas.
Wailana Pool is so tucked away. Honestly, I’m not a fan of those ones.
Aulani Cabana Price
A poolside cabana at Aulani costs $550 for a full day.
Advance reservations are required and they will go quick, especially during the peak season.
Is it worth it?
The way I see it is that it’s totally worth it during the busy season, especially during those times when it’s impossible to find a decent seat without sprinting down there at like 7 am.
I see myself booking this at least once a trip, especially since it’ll be nice to have the little one nap in there during the day without having to go up to the room and risk not having a decent seat when we get back.
Sure the amenities aren’t amazing and it’s not a cool building like the ones found on Castaway Cay, but it’s still a nice little shaded retreat in a prime location.
