This is just a simple list of items that you should pack for your next Disney Cruise.
What I Pack
This is what I always try to pack, and I’m more than confident that it should apply to you too.
1. Refillable Water Bottle
Even if you’re staying in a Concierge Stateroom, you should bring your own refillable water bottle and cup with lid so that you can fill up at those complimentary refilling stations on the pool deck.
- Favorite Water Bottle: Hydroflask Wide Mouth with Straw
2. Swimsuit
Regardless of what ship you’re on or what destinations your sailing too, you really can’t go wrong with always having at least one swimsuit in your bag.
Even if you’re going to Alaska or Norway, it’s always great to have a bathing suit for those days that you want to chill in the hot tub. Plus, it’s also a necessity if you want to take advantage of some of the amenities at the spa.
- Favorite Swimsuit for Men: Chubbies Classic Swim Trunk
- Favorite Swimsuit for Women: Aerie Swimsuit
3. Portable Battery Pack
Gotta stay juiced up when onboard and even during your Port Excursions.
- Favorite Battery Pack: Anker Foldable Magnetic Charger
4. Day Bag
Bring a day bag or pool bag to keep all your poolside and beachside essentials in such as sunglasses, sunscreen, extra clothes, books, goggles, portable charging batteries, etc.
You can also use this bag for the first day when you get onboard just in case your bags take forever to get delivered but you still want to use the pool or slides.
This is also a good bag to bring on excursions.
- Favorite Day Bag: Lululemon Everywhere Backpack
5. Hand Sanitizer
Besides the wipes they give out before you enter any restaurant, I’ve been seeing less and less hand sanitizer dispensers on board.
- Favorite Hand Sanitizer: Noshinku Pocket
6. Lanyard (or Magic Band+)
Sometimes the lanyards they give you are itchy and suck so I recommend you either bring your own (especially if it’s your first ever cruise) or bring a Magic Band+ that acts like your stateroom key and charge card when onboard or at Castaway.
7. Pepto Bismol or Tums
The amount of food I eat on a cruise is insane so I always gotta make sure my gut feels alright for seconds or even thirds.
- Favorite Belly Meds: Pepto Bismol Chewables
8. Liquid IV
Gotta stay hydrated if you go a little too hard at the pool bar.
- Favorite Flavor: Liquid IV Lemon Lime
9. Sunscreen
Make sure to protect yourself from those harmful rays when onboard or at the beach.
- Favorite Sunscreen: Trader Joe’s Daily Facial Sunscreen
10. Comfortable Clothes
Comfort is king when I’m on a cruise. Besides maybe dinner, I’m wearing comfortable gym clothes with no shame.
11. Toiletries and Cosmetic Products
Makeup, toothbrush, deodorant, cologne, lotion, contact solution, chapstick, etc.
12. Travel Documents
Make sure that you have all of your import travel documents like passports (if your cruise requires one), drivers license, birth certificate, health insurance card, etc. before you leave home.
13. Diapers and other Baby Essentials
You can never under pack diapers, wipes, and formula. Yes, the stores may have some onboard, but there’s a good chance that it’s not your go-to brand. We’re an Honest or Hello Bello family and Disney usually only has Huggies.
14. Electronics
Phone chargers, iPads, cameras, GoPros, etc.
15. Autograph Book
There are too many fun character meet and greet opportunities onboard that.
16. Gum
Just like at any Disney World park or hotel, you won’t find gum on any ship.
17. Small Travel Stroller
We always use our super tiny stroller when onboard because it makes life so much easier, and it doesn’t take that much space around the ship, even the hallways.
- Favorite Travel Stroller: gb Pockit+
18. A Nice Outfit
If you plan on eating at one of the fancy adult restaurants like Palo Steakhouse or Remy, don’t forget your nice clothes. They have lightened up on the Palo dress-code so you really don’t need to go that crazy tbh.
19. Jacket or Sweater
Even if you’re sailing in the Caribbean in August, it could get a little breezy at sea. Not to mention some spots onboard have the air cranking.
20. Dramamine
If you get seasick, pack some of the non-drowsy version with you. You never know how choppy it could get out there. For me, the only time I really feel the ship move is when we first set sail and that’s about it.
21. Alcohol
Guests 21 and over are allowed to bring 2 bottles of wine or champagne or 6 beers at the beginning of the voyage and at each Port of Call.
