In order to break even on your Magic Key purchase, here’s how many times you need to go to Disneyland in one year.
And once you hit these numbers, it’s basically free 🙂!
Getting Your Money’s Worth on a Magic Key
In order to get your money’s worth on a Magic Key, here’s how many times you need to go to a Disneyland park in order to break even on your purchase.
- Inspire Magic Key ($1,649) = 11 times
- Believe Magic Key ($1,249) = 9 times
- Enchant Magic Key ($849) = 6 times
- Imagine Magic Key ($499) = 4 times
Technically, you can achieve this even quicker especially if you usually buy Park Hopper or multi-day tickets. But for this example, I just used single day park ticket prices to figure this out.
The only things that I didn’t factor in was Park Hopper, Genie+, Individual Lightning Lanes, and parking because not everyone will buy a Park Hopper add-on, pay for Genie+, or even pay for parking.
How I Got These Numbers
A one-day non-Park Hopper Disneyland ticket costs between $104 and $194 each depending on the time of year.
And a one-day Park Hopper ticket costs between $169 and $259 each.
For this exampled, I decided to use the non-Park Hopper price because it just seemed more realistic to me, even though the Magic Key does actually include Park Hopper.
So is a Magic Key worth it?
If you plan on going to Disneyland at least 3 o 4 times a year, then I absolutely believe that you can save so much money in the long run.
The fact that you get Park Hopper, discounted Disneyland room rates, discounted Genie+, as well as food and merch discount, makes it well worth the costs.
And even as an out-of-state Enchant Magic Key holder that lives in Florida, as long as I go to Disneyland for 6 individual park visits, I will 100% break even on the pass and get my money’s worth.
