Understanding Disneyland Hotel Pricing and Rate Seasons
Here are a few key points about Disney hotel prices and rate seasons:
- Rate Seasons: Disneyland typically divides the calendar year into different rate seasons, which are periods of varying demand and pricing. These seasons include:
- Peak Season: Demand is at its highest, such as during holidays, school vacation periods like Spring Break, and special events. Rates are the highest.
- Regular Season: Moderate demand, which often falls between peak seasons. Rates are cheaper than Peak but higher than Value.
- Value Season: Lower demand, often during off-peak times of the year. Rates are the lowest during this season.
- Dynamic Pricing: Disney hotel pricing is dynamic, which means that it can change frequently based on demand, availability, and booking patterns.
- Price Control: Disneyland maintains strict control over pricing, regardless of how guests book their hotel rooms. This means that even if you book directly through Disneyland’s website, through a Disney travel agent, or through a third party travel booking website liked Expedia, the room rate will be the same.
- Discounts and Packages: Disney always offers some type of discount or package deals that may be available for specific rate seasons or in conjunction with certain promotions.
- Flexibility: If you have flexibility in your travel dates, you can for sure take advantage of lower prices during value seasons or weekdays when demand is usually lower compared to weekends.
- Advance Booking: Booking well in advance can sometimes secure better rates, especially for popular times of the year. Room rates won’t get cheaper as the date approaches but availability will go pretty quick especially around the holidays or Spring Break.
Why These Prices Don’t Stress Me Out
For my family and I, choosing where we stay at Disneyland is the least of our worries because we are the type of people that tend to spend a lot of time. The last thing I want to do is spend $2000 for 3 nights at a Disney hotel, especially if I’m only going to be getting back at 12 am.
That’s why I always choose the best deal whether if it’s on Disney property or a Good Neighbor hotel.
If money is no object, then sure the Grand Californian has the best location of any Disney park in America. But if you want to save some money but still have a nice place to rest, then you really can’t go wrong with the Westin Anaheim or Hyatt Place.
