Here’s everything you need to know about the Lightning Lane Multi-Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass which has replaced Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane Selections at Walt Disney World.
It’s literally just FastPass+ but with some substantial modifications.
How it Works
Here’s what you get with the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass:
Multi-Pass
- Book time-slots for select attractions at every park
- Make 3 Lightning Lane selections and arrival windows before you get to the park
- First 3 pre-arrival selections must be for the same park
- Can be made at multiple parks if you have Park Hopper
Single Pass
- Pay for Lightning Lane access to the more in-demand rides that aren’t available on the Multi Pass
- Can only purchase up to 2 per day
Best of all, you can easily modify your attractions and arrival windows on the My Disney Experience app.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass 101
Here’s what you get when you purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass:
- Plan ahead of your visit and choose up to 3 multi pass experiences and arrival windows at the same park
- If you have Park Hopper, you can choose attractions from all 4 parks after you redeem your first Lightning Lane
- You can choose your attractions and arrival window before you even buy it
- Once inside the park and you knock out your first multi pass attraction, you can then make another one
- Receive digital downloads of attraction photos/videos as well as other Disney PhotoPass services
- You can make plans for multiple days, all in the same day
This reminds me of the old FastPass+ system. The only major difference is that this service costs money and some rides cost extra (see below).
Lightning Lane Single Pass 101
Lightning Lane Single Pass allows you to purchase quicker access to some of the most in-demand rides and attractions that aren’t available on the Multi Pass.
- You can purchase up to 2 single passes per day
When Can You Purchase Your Passes?
If you’re staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels, you can purchase your passes up to 7 days in advance for your entire stay (up to 14 days)
If you’re staying elsewhere, you can purchase it up to 3 days in advance of your park stay.
There are some things you should know first though:
- If you’re a Disney hotel guest, you can purchase up to 7 days of your STAY (check-in date) not the first day you scan into the park.
- This means that if your check-in date is January 8th, you can start booking attractions on your Multi Pass starting January 1st. Even if you’re not going to the park until January 11th, you can still book your experiences on the 1st, if that makes sense
- You can book your Lightning Lane selections for your entire stay (up to 14 days) once you’re 7 days away from check-in
